Greg Haugen Woodturning
Even as a young child growing up I enjoyed working with wood. It provided an opportunity to work with my hands as well as an outlet for creativity. After graduating with honors from a technical college for carpentry and woodworking I worked for a custom woodworking shop. In 2005 when our oldest daughter started preschool, I became a stay at home dad. I still wanted to be involved with woodworking though so I started a woodturning shop. Today, I sell at a variety of galleries and gift shops as well as make restoration parts for area furniture and piano restorers. I'm a member of the American Association of Woodturners, the Minnesota Woodturners Association, and the Coulee Region Woodturners. I currently reside in the scenic bluffs of southwest Wisconsin with my beautiful wife and three daughters.

My goal with every piece is to have it admired for its beauty and form, and also held and caressed for its tactility. The majority of my work is functional even though sometimes the best “function” is stirring the human emotion as an artistic piece."

This is a Box Elder Burl Box with a chattered Redheart inlay. The box really showcases the grain of the burl as well as the detailed inlay on the lid.
