Can you switch from National guard to active duty and enlist as a drill sergeant?
I am a specialist and i know i have enough points to get a time in grade/rank waiver to be a sgt. I am just wondering if I can get it in my contract to be a drill sergeant.
If you are in the National Guard you work for that state. You are not part of the US Army. Now you may have entered the service w/ the NG as active first where you are on kinda a loan to the US Army but you are in a totally different branch. With that said there are always programs that you may be eligible for to switch from one to another. I would check with your Career Planner or Career Counselor whatever you guys got.
