If You Need Information On Exotic Wood Turning Then This is The Best Untapped Resource On The Web

I'm making a locket what would be better, a small or a larger one?
I was planning on making a locket from a piece of exotic wood I have left over from a past project. The wood in question is purple heart and the piece I have turns a dark purple when properly finished.
Since it's purple heart it seems poetically appropriate to make a heart shaped locket yet I'm at a loss as to the dimensions that would be best. Being technical of mind I thought that a larger one would be more sound as it seems more functional though it occurred to me that functional isn't always romantic.
I have up to three inches of material for depth though that really depends more on the size, the face of the wood showing the grain I want to use is two and a quarter inches by two inches (approximately).
I would like to ask what size would be preferred by others to make a more educated choice myself. Please include why you think those sizes are thought by you to be the best.
Hi well as small as u can get will be fine I mean really small coz bulky lockets will not be worn then again it's only my humble opinion ur call YES? ♥
