How would you describe my diet?
I am worried I am going to gain weight, my metabolism is pretty slow and I need to lose some weight. Today I slipped up with the 7 chips but heres my diet anyway:
Breakfast: 2 Sticks of Gum
20g Special K (No Milk)
=80kcal
(I burnt my breakfast off by walking)
Lunch: Green Apple
Special K Cereal Bar
=133kcal
Dinner: Bowl of Chicken Tikka
7x oven cooked chips
=Approx 500?
Will I gain or what?
No, you will not gain. However, such a diet is not sustainable. That is too few calories. You should worry less about the number of calories and more about the source of your calories. If you eat well balanced meals, which means that you include foods from all of the food groups, you will get enough nutrients without too many calories. So, eat your fresh fruits and vegetables, grains, meats, and dairy. You should eat fats, carbs and proteins every day. Do not skip meals and drink water. Five or six small meals a day is better than three big meals.
To increase your metabolism, do some strength training to increase your muscle mass. You don't have to become muscle bound. You can be lean and muscular. The more muscle you have, the higher your metabolism. Do push-ups, pull-ups, squats, etc.
