Does anyone know how to set the timing on an Olds engine?
I have an 83' Olds Cutlass with the H.E.I. distributor. I have tried to set the time by turning the cap. But it seems to still jump time, there is no hold down clamp on it.
Robert, A hold down clamp is just what it says, HOLD DOWN CLAMP!
You must use a timing light to precisely set the timing on a 'distributor type' engine. You can get reasonably close with out the light, but either way you'll need to lock it down once the timing is set.
"BRILLIANT"!!!!
