h2>Looking For Maple Knife Scale ? Then This is Where You Want to Be
![]() |
Calling all wood experts! Which Woods would be good (or not) for a chef's knife handle? Toxicity?
I 'm making a chef's knife for my sister and I want to get the wood for the scales (handle sides). I know a lot of woods have some level of toxicity, and I'd rather not get them around food. I want a good looking knife handle though! Which woods are safe? Prefer something darkish (or at least not light, like maple) with a wow! grain. Any ideas and advice are much appreciated!
walnut or oak or ebony is good if you can afford it
