Would the piano match the furniture in my room?
the furniture in my room is going to be a white distressed color, described as "antique beige" by the company [gothic cabinet craft]. i have a piano that i want to move into my room, but it is a more natural wood color, like a dark brown. would that furniture combo match?

great question! First off the fact that you're seeking advice shows a good mindset.
I've been involved with furniture and interior designers for a long long time. Mostly in the capacity of consultancy with regard to finishes and questions exactly like you're asking.
The short answer your question is "yes, it will look great".
To expand a little bit let me say this. Pianos, although giving the appearance of furniture, are so much more. They are weighty pieces, and I don't mean just hefty to pick up. They command more authority in this space than simple utilitarian furniture does.
I think it has to do with the craftsmanship involved, and the multidisciplinary nature of fine woodworking, music, and artistic expression. Unless, you're going for a monochromatic statement in your room, where everything is going to follow the theme of a particular color, the contrast of the darker piano will actually be a powerfully good thing.
I believe what the little forethought as to tie it all together as far as your accessories go, you do a really great job of bringing it all together to form a cohesive statement. One thing you want to take into consideration is the condition of your piano. If your new furniture is sharp and clean and in pristine condition, "which it will be because it's going to be brand-new", you should go over your piano and touch up any nicks and scrapes the standout. If that's not something you're comfortable with doing, you can find somebody to come to your home and spend an hour or so to spruce up your piano for price is fairly affordable. All in all, I say go for it, the more you do, and the more questions you ask, the more developed your design sense will become.
