I am using red cedar wood chips as bedding for my two rabbits...but i am scared that it may harm them...is?
there a bedding i can use that will not harm or kill them??
Get the natural colored corn cob bedding made for caged critters! It absorbs the urine and is odorless and makes a very nice and neat looking bedding. Newspaper ink can be poisonous to animals if they injest too much of it and rabbits like to nibble on things. Mine never tried to eat the corn cob and it is not real expensive....it did a lot better than the shavings or chips as bedding --they did not seem to absorb the urine as nicely. With the corn cob, you can remove the 'wet spots' and still use the remaining bedding also, so saves money that way too! Never use an artifically colored bedding, have heard those can really cause problems in small animals after a while of being on them.
