Levelling plug sockets???
I'm putting on a socket and a fused spur next to it in the kitchen. but i want them to look leveled with each other and straight. I have put some sockets on before but because they have always been with the backboxes that stick out, i can just put a small spirit level on top of it and sort it out. but these are galvanised and sit in the wall. any ideas what is the best way to make sure they are level with each other and straight.
also how can i make sure i have the correct depth for the galvanised box in the wall, I am using an SDS Chisel drill to chisel the wall out, whats the best way for this.
Thanx in advance for all your replies
you seem to be makin this sound harder than it is, just draw the level line on the wall long enough for both boxes (if you only have a small level sit it on a length of wood), theres your line, next put your boxes one at a time on the line then draw round each one, when chiseling the hole make the first few strikes with a bolster so the initial bit looks tidy, then you can get in with the sds chisel, then its trial and error ,chisel a bit then check the depth then chisel another bit if needed.
p.s if your gonna be doing a few of these on holes for boxes you can buy a square hole cutter which you use with the type of drill you have , one with rotary stop, but the thing is a bit pricey.some sparks dont like them but i swear by it , beats a hammer and shisel any day and completes the cut in about 4-5 minutes with perfect cuts. good luck
