Shy on a first date?
Recently I went on a date with this guy and I was superrr shy. I felt like such a conversation stopper because he would talk about certain things that I wouldn't know what to say and then the conversation would just stop...there would be awkward pauses every couple of minutes..and I was just so shy that he kept trying to start conversation to relieve the tension. ahh for some reason my mind goes blank when I'm in these situations and I feel like I can never find things to say or be natural. When I'm about to say something I get really nervous and I cut what I'm saying short. Anyone have this experience? How did you break out of this shell?!! And what do you think the guy thinks? He said he would call me later
Experience will let you grow more in tune with other people, practice. As you develop you will start to feel each other out and know how to work the situation better. I am sure there are individuals who you interact with freely on a regular basis, no shyness involved. You are capable.
I have dated shy girls, sometimes I would even seek them out. I am aware that there is pressure and sometimes people just don't know what to say or just don't say it. I do not hold it against them as I myself have problems in this area - like all humans at some point. My real concern is an absence of thought, which you do not have. Do not over-analyze and dwell, it can be dangerous and detrimental.
See if he calls and play it by ear - if he does not, no worries and move on despite emotions. Someone who would have said they would call to just to depart is not worth the time or energy. Good luck in cracking through your invisible shell!
