Wood Stain
Wood stain job gone wrong? I let it dry to long trying to achieve a darker look and now it is really sticky?

I sanded down a table that I had, yes it is real wood and was going to stain it black, but it was only a dark gray at best. So I stained it again with a generous amount of stain and thought that I would let it set a little longer. Well I got the black color that I was looking for but the wood is really sticky now. Is there anyway to remove the stickiness with out losing the color? Thanks for your help in advance.

You will have to remove the stain and do it over. Take a old rag and thinner and wipe the table down, don't allow the thinner to sit on the table but, wipe it dry. Then allow it to dry. You might want to do this in an open area not in the house. A fire hazard too.
