Can I fix a wooden door if a chunk of wood is missing near the handle?
Long story short, a wooden door got kicked in at my apartment. Is it possible to fix the decent size chunk of wood missing from the door rather than replacing the entire door? It needs to look pretty good.
The chunk of wood missing is slightly larger than my fist.
Sure it CAN be done, but it's likely that it would cost more to repair it than what a new door would cost. If you were able to do it neatly yourself, you could save a bunch of cash, but since you had to ask, I get the impression you aren't *woodworking friendly* yourself and it is the time spent doing the repair that is going to get expensive. So unless you have the ability to repair it yourself, the repair costs will outweigh the door replacement price.
